Thérèse Angelo Wing: 1st - 4th June: Restricted Access
Access to our Thérèse Angelo Wing will be restricted from Monday 1 June until Thursday 4 June to allow for the installation of our new Tall Tails exhibition which opens on Friday 5 June.
While some aircraft – including the Skyhawk and Bristol Freighter – will not be on display, our behind-the-scenes tours will continue as normal and will be FREE from 1 June to 4 June inclusive. We will also be FREE to overseas visitors for this period.
We are sorry for any inconvenience – but promise it will be worth it!
The closure is to allow us to install Tall Tails.
The exhibition features the giant tail fin and rudder sections of our Hercules and Orion aircraft, which are going on public display for the first time.
Visitors will also have the chance to support our Home for Heroes campaign to build the Orion and Hercules a new, forever home. The scale of the tails will give you a taste of the challenges we face to fit them!
Tall Tails is FREE and will be open to the public from 9.30am on Friday 5 June.

Behind the Scenes Tour
On our special 45-minute guided tour you will learn more about our work behind the scenes, and discover the aircraft, vehicles and engines in our Reserve Collection.
Our knowledgeable volunteer guides will take you on a short walk, under cover, through the Aircraft Hall to the Reserve Collection space in the Thérèse Angelo Wing, then on into our Conservation Workshop to view our current restoration projects.
Tours run daily at 11am, 1.30pm and 3pm*, no booking is required – just ask at the Welcome Desk. Tours will be free from 1st June – 4th June 2026.
*Please note that our Daily Tours are subject to volunteer guide availability, and while we make every effort to ensure we can offer these tours at the advertised times, there may be occasions when this is not possible due to illness, etc.
